What is AODD Pump
An AODD Pump (Air Operated Double Diaphragm Pump) is a type of pump that works using compressed air instead of electricity. It has two flexible diaphragms inside that move back and forth, pushing liquid out from one side while pulling liquid in from the other side. This design allows the pump to handle many types of liquids from thin and clean to thick, sticky, abrasive, or even corrosive fluids. AODD pumps are self-priming, can run dry without damage, and are leak-free. How Does AODD Pump Work:
- The pump is activated with compressed air which pushes one diaphragm forward and pushes the liquid through the outlet pipe.
- At the same time, the other diaphragm simultaneously pulls liquid which creates a vacuum and pulls liquid into the pump through the inlet pipe.
- The compressed air is then switched to the other side of the pump.
- At this point the second diaphragm will push the liquid out while the first diaphragm pulls the liquid in.
- Both diaphragms are connected by a shaft, so they will move and rotate together in perfect sync.
- Inlet and outlet flow is managed by little valves which open and close automatically to let the liquid while flow in while blocking counter flow
